Severe Storms could occur again this afternoon generally East of a line from Waco to Corsicana to Paris. Dryline storms could form closer to I-35 and the DFW area by midday or early afternoon, becoming severe 50-80 miles East of Dallas.
As of Sunday morning, there were still a few hundred power outages in Dallas County, and a few hundred more in areas of East Texas. Unfortunately those areas of East Texas are the most likely areas to see a repeat of yesterday’s severe storms.
Power restoration is moving along very well in Tarrant County where storms ended around 6PM. There are stll several thousand power outages being repaired in Dallas and Kaufman Counties and farther East.
Isolated storms could break out late tomorrow morning or afternoon but conditions continue to improve.
Severe weather threat is over in DFW. Storms are still active East and Southeast of Dallas, but the remaining storms to come through DFW are routine and weakening. Again, the improving weather conditions will allow Oncor’s power restoration crews to accelerate their work across the area.
Flash Flood warnings continue in Dallas, Tarrant, Rockwall, Johnson and Ellis Counties until 6:15 and there would yet more more widely scattered storms with brief heavy rains, gusty winds and limited lightning, but the worst is over.
The worst storms underway now are Southeast of Dallas in Kaufman, Navarro, Henderson and Van Zandt Counties. Isolated tornadic supercells with large hail and flooding rains continue East and Southeast of Dallas but conditions locally in the DFW area are improving and will allow Oncor power restoration crews safer access to more areas, accelerating the process.
Tornado Watch until 8P. Flash Flood warnings likely to be extended and expanded across North Texas in general until Saturday evening.
Heavy rain, flooding, frequent lightning, gusty winds and small hail continue across North Texas with several thousand power outages.
Most storms are not severe or capable of causing damage, but continued and repetitive storms crossing the area from southwest to northeast will slow the work of power restoration crews.
The worst of the storms should be out of the area by 5PM.
Tornado warning for Denton, Collin, Dallas Counties expired at 1:45. Circulation weakening.
Gusty straight-line winds, downbursts, rain-softened ground and lightning strikes have produced more than 10,000 power outages in the DFW area.
Flash Flood Warning for Denton, Cooke and Grayson Counties until 3P.
Tornado Watch until 8P regionwide. More storms on the way.

Severe Tstorm warning for Western Tarrant County/Eastern Parker County until 1P. Storms with damaging winds moving N/E at 45mph. Intense lightning activity with storms. Combined wind, ground-softening from heavy rains and lightning strikes will result in increasing power outages regionwide through 6P.
Tornado watch regionwide through 8P.
