Special Weather Update 8:30 AM Sunday Oct 9

Officially, DFW area airports received well under an inch of rain, but gusty winds and heavy lightning managed to produce thousands of power outages overnight especially in Tarrant County where the storms were fairly intense.  Unofficially, many areas west of Lake Arlington received multi-inch rains and more is likely this afternoon/evening.
Please be aware that downed tree limbs and power lines may be scattered through your neighborhood as you get out this morning.  Oncor crews are also out in force this morning, restoring electrical service as quickly and safely as possible.
We are expecting light rain to taper off this morning, then one more round of scattered late afternoon/evening storms which should be lighter, fewer and farther between than last night.
