Sunday Jan 22 Special Weather Update
An intense storm system spinning a powerful vortex through the midwest today will create very windy conditions across North Texas. Even worse, West Texas is under a critical fire alert and wind warning. Persistent drought conditions aggravated by two weeks of virtually no rain near or west of I-35 will make today very difficult for those driving trucks and rv’s, power-line crews dealing with wind-damage to poles and lines and dozens of volunteer fire departments between the Panhandle and I-10..and between the New Mexico Border and I-35. Please observe all common sense cautions considering the wind and fire hazards we are facing today.
Today, PtCldy, Dusty, Unseasonably Warm, 75/40 Winds gusting 30-45 mph.
